I am using the Forum Statistics Mod by Nayan Gosh (TheUniqueTiger)
Is it possible to update or do I need a clean install?

You could update, but that would mean you would have to update to phpBB Statistics 1.0.1, then to 1.0.2 and finally to 1.0.3.

I would recommend you uninstall Forum Statistics 0.3.0 and then install phpBB Statistics 1.0.3.
