Alternating post background color

Just as in the list of thread topics, how would I be able to altnerate the colors of each posts background so that each seperate post is more easily distinguishable?

The post background color is set by .bg1 and .bg2 in colours.css.

One last thing thing, how do I change the default post/reply font as well as the quote font? ( Excuse my incompetence )
